The Level 1 AST Certification Training Program will introduce the professional to Auditory Skills Training (AST).

The Level 1 AST Certification Training Program: Instructional Portion will introduce the professional to Auditory Skills Training (AST), a form of client/family-centered aural rehabilitation for older children, teenagers and adults with hearing loss who are using newly acquired cochlear implant(s).

Mentoring Portion of Level 1 Certification in AST Training Program: Observation, Analysis and Guidance

Mentoring Portion of Level 1 Certification in AST Training Program: Observation, Analysis and Guidance

Participate in and observe 7 hours of AST as provided by the participants who successfully completed the Instructional Portion of Level Certification in AST Training Program.

Participants who completed the Instructional Portion of Level 1 Certification in AST program engage in group mentoring experience that involves observation of AST sessions, interactive analysis and guidance. Each mentoring day will provide 7 hours of AST analysis and discussion led and moderated by an experienced AST practitioner; taking place via a tele-conferencing platform that is HIPAA compliant.

Auditory-Verbal Practice (AVP) has evolved significantly as a result of the wealth of information the profession gained from the research and clinical best-practices of the past decade. This three-day workshop will provide an in-depth review of these changes and what they look like in the clinic or the families' home today.
