BECKY CLEM, MA, CCC-SLP, LSLS Cert. AVT is a Speech-Language Pathologist and Listening-Spoken Language Specialist with AVT certification. Her clinical specialization is working with babies and young children with cochlear implants. She is passionate about family centered care and health literacy for all families who have children with special needs. Becky is employed at the Education Coordinator for Rehabilitation Services at Cook Children's Medical Center. She serves on the Cook Children's Patient Family Education Council and Health Literacy Task Force. She is a graduate of Texas Christian University and Wichita State University. Included in her experience is working with families of babies and children with hearing loss in Auditory-Verbal Therapy, mentoring and coaching professionals towards certification in Auditory-Verbal Therapy, and teaching in state, national, and international programs. Her publications have appeared in the ASHA Perspectives, Volta Review, and Pediatric Audiology Case Studies (Flexer and Madell, 2010). Becky serves as a team member of the Global Foundation For Children With Hearing Loss for the summer teacher-training program in Vietnam.
